The Morgan Motor Company is famous worldwide for its unique blend of craft, heritage and pure driving experience. The Morgan Motor Company has been manufacturing quintessentially British vehicles for more than 110 years.
Passed down through generations, the same craftsmanship skills that were integral during the founding of the Morgan Motor Company in 1909 are as alive today as they have ever been.
The company was established in 1909 by H.F.S Morgan with the design of the now iconic Morgan Three-Wheeler. This was followed, in 1936, by the Morgan 4-4, based on the Morgan steel chassis. This chassis was produced until 2020, making it the longest running production car architecture in the world.
Today, the Morgan Motor company is more than just a car manufacturer. Based in Malvern is the Morgan Experience centre, it is home to a range of experience activities and attractions including factory tours, drive experiences and an onsite restaurant. Each year it welcomes around 30,000 visitors from around the world. Following an extensive redevelopment, it re-opened its doors in summer 2020.
This redevelopment saw the experience centre completely refurbished. As part of this renovation, alphaLED supplied and installed Apto fixtures in black. The Apto was selected for its ability to create focal points and beautifully highlight key elements of the cars.
The track was the best option to give the Morgan Experience Centre flexibility to firstly fit into the slotted style ceiling system, but to also allow the ability to position multiple Apto fixtures in custom spots along the track. This future-proofs the client’s lighting solutions, when the display is adapted or changed, then the lighting can easily be moved to accommodate this.
The Apto fixtures were completed with high CRI and high output Xicato light engines. This allowed the car models below to be illuminated in a bright light, which made the colours of the stunning bodywork really vibrant. The high colour quality of the Apto fixtures throughout meant that the Experience Centre has superior colour consistency throughout.
