What is a Circular Economy?
A circular economy is a sustainable alternative to the traditional ‘take, make, waste’ linear economy. It focuses on keeping resources in use for as long as possible through repair, repurposing, upgrading, and other methods to maximise their value. At the end of a product’s life, components and materials are recovered and regenerated, completing the cycle.
At alphaLED we have been consciously working towards our sustainability goals, designing and manufacturing all products in line with the circular economy, focusing on longevity and a sustainable life cycle.
Sustainability and circular design have been carefully considered when crafting the design of our product ranges, particularly the Dezzi range.
As are most of our product ranges, our popular Dezzi range of luminaires is fully modular, which is a huge benefit for both clients and the environment. If the bezel, driver, or light engine needs replacing, the fixture easily comes apart; this lowers the costs for businesses and reduces waste overall to ensure that our products are future proofed.
The Dezzi range is also a certified circular product range, in line with the latest TM66 Assured Product Verification Scheme by The LIA and endorsed by CIBSE. Dezzi meets all the requirements for circular production, from product design through to materials, manufacturing, and the impact on the ecosystem.
With a 10-year warranty and a guaranteed 20-year duty of care, our customers have peace of mind that when they purchase alphaLED luminaires, they are buying something that is built to last. Our fixtures are designed with the Circular Economy in mind, and we will renew any, once they have reached their End of Life, whether that be with a brand-new light engine and/or control gear.
